Ολοκλήρωσε τη Γενική Παθολογία στο νοσοκομείο του University of Maryland Βαλτιμόρης των ΗΠΑ και στη συνέχεια ειδικεύτηκε στην αναισθησιολογία στο πανεπιστημιακό νοσοκομείο Johns Hopkins Hospital της Βαλτιμόρης των ΗΠΑ. Κατά την διάρκεια της εκπαίδευσής της ειδικεύτηκε στην αναισθησία των ασθενών με αυξημένες αναισθησιολογικές ανάγκες (Critical Care Anesthesia). Υποειδικεύτηκε στη Μονάδας Εντατικής Θεραπείας στο νοσοκομείο Johns Hopkins Hospital.
